Questions travelers ask before they pay.
Is the itinerary actually personalized to my trip?
Yes — every itinerary is built from your actual numbers, not a generic template. You enter your total trip budget, currency, and trip length on the /budget page, and our budget engine ranks destinations from our destinations table against your budget before any itinerary is generated. The day-by-day itinerary and neighborhood breakdown you get with the $19 Paid Itinerary tier reflect your dates, your trip length, and any multi-stop routing you've added — and the neighborhood-by-neighborhood safety breakdown uses the same per-destination data we update quarterly. Plug in different numbers and you'll see different recommendations, which is the whole point.
What's the difference between Free and the $19 Paid Itinerary?
Free Lookup shows you where your budget can take you: ranked destinations that fit, a single cost number per city (flights, lodging, food, activities), an overall neighborhood safety score, and a clear within-budget / over-budget verdict — see the comparison table above for the full row. The $19 Paid Itinerary Detail tier takes that same budget and turns it into a day-by-day itinerary: hours, addresses, reservation notes, a block-by-block neighborhood safety breakdown, multi-stop support for up to three cities on one trip, and a printable PDF plus a plain-text export you can edit by hand. It is a one-time $19 charge — not a subscription.
Can I edit the itinerary after I buy it?
You get two friendly export formats out of the box: a printable PDF so you can mark it up and bring it with you, and a plain-text version you can copy into any notes app, Google Doc, or email and hand-edit to your taste. If your plans change and you want a fresh itinerary built from scratch, that regenerate step is always free — re-enter your new dates or new budget on the /budget page and we will redo the budget engine pass at no charge. The Paid Itinerary tier is for the first build; re-runs are unlimited.
Is my data safe?
Your email is used only to deliver your itinerary and to remember your account if you sign up — we do not sell it, share it with third-party marketers, or use it for anything outside of running RoamSmart. Payment is processed entirely by Stripe through secure checkout; we never see or store your card number, CVC, or full card details on our servers — only a checkout session ID and a subscription reference come back to us. Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes, sessions are server-side with an expiry, and you can reset your password or delete your account at any time from the dashboard.
Does RoamSmart cover my destination?
Our coverage is global cities — currently Mexico City (Condesa, Roma Norte, Polanco, Coyoacan, Centro Historico), Lisbon (Chiado, Principe Real, Alfama, Belem, Bairro Alto), Bali (Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua), Tokyo, Bangkok, Reykjavik, and Cape Town, with more added every quarter. Every covered city has its own destination hub page at /destinations/<slug> with a weather band by month, top-neighborhood breakdown, and the same budget and itinerary outputs — so even before you sign up you can browse what we cover. If your destination is not in the list, the budget engine will tell you on the results page and point you toward what is currently available.
